Curly Cuts

We cut curls differently to what you may have be used to. Leeanne uses new certified curly methods to cut curls which is entirely different to a “dry curly cut” or traditional wet curly cut.

We cut the curls dry – first. Because the curls are cut curl by curl with each curl “family”, we need to see the natural curl pattern. This is especially important because curly hair is not uniform, most people have multiple curl patterns and even textures on their head.

What Is a Dry Curl-by-Curl Cut?

A dry curl-by-curl cut is ideal for those who embrace their natural curls, providing a tailored approach to enhance the unique shape and texture of each curl.

Curly Cuts is dedicated solely to curl-by-curl cutting — it’s all we do. Our specialised method suits the majority of curl patterns, especially tight textures. However, it isn’t suitable for very short styles or hair that is straight or almost straight. Fades and barbering services are not part of our services.

Booking An Appoinment

Curly cutting and our shop opening hours us is just one part of what we do at Curly Cuts. With so many aspects to the business outside of these hours including our online curly shop Natural Eclipse — we’re often pulled in many directions. That means we prefer online or email bookings.

Please help us and try booking online first before emailing us at [email protected] to book and appointment. The online booking system shows the same availability we see — we can only book you via email if the appointment is also visible online.

If you can’t see your preferred service or time available online, it usually means we’re fully booked for the service you’re trying to select, or you’re trying to book outside the times we’ve allocated for curly cutting.

You’re welcome to try selecting an alternative service, such as an Express Curly Cut, if available — please note this is a different service with different inclusions, and you’ll receive the service you book.

At Curly Cuts, we run our bookings on a strict 6-week rolling schedule to help create a fair and equal system for everyone in our curly community. We don’t open appointments beyond that 6 week window or hold spots in advance, as it ensures every customer has the same opportunity to book as appointments become available

Our bookings open progressively, 6 weeks in advance from the current date — not all at once. These usually open weekly on a Friday or Saturday. Please also re check online for cancelations.

Please note that during peak times and following holiday closures, bookings may be released earlier than our usual six-week timeframe to help manage demand.

If you can’t find a suitable appointment, we recommend checking back regularly , as more appointments open up weekly or for any cancellations online. 

Curly Cutting Hours — Here’s When We Snip

Curly cutting is just one component of our business and is not offered every day. Our time is also dedicated to many other services, including our online curly shop Natural Eclipse, our in-store retail and refill bar, writing curly blogs, training, website work, free online curly training, general shop keeping duties and our nation wide online postal refill service.

We do not offer colouring or other salon services, as our time is reserved for what’s needed most and that is our specialised curl-by-curl cutting.

Cutting appointments are available on Tuesday, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

We do not offer cuts on Saturdays, or after 1 pm on Fridays, as these times are peak times with retail and refill services.

Cuts are available between 10.30 am and 3pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays 9.15 am until 6pm , Thursdays 9.15 am until 3pm and Fridays 9.15 am until 1pm.

Non Talking Appointments

At Curly Cuts, we understand that some clients prefer a quiet, relaxing experience. If you’d like a non-talking appointment, simply let us know by emailing us at [email protected] before your visit, and we’ll be happy to accommodate. 

First-Time Customers

All new bookings require pre-payment.

You’ll receive an email about two weeks before your appointment, with payment due one week prior.

 

December & January Appointments

We are fully booked out for pre Christmas bookings! If you’re hoping for a pre-Xmas cut, please read below about our cancellation list. 

Any cancellations between now and Christmas will automatically appear online so re check in for cancels.

Please note the spot will most likely get taken online before I can get to the cancel list so please book online.

January bookings are also open .

Any new January appointments booked for 18 or 19 January require pre-payment before 24/12 due to our holiday closure.

2. Dry Curl Cut & Refresh $150
3. Dry Curl Cut , Refresh & Dry $200

Curly Cuts will be closed from 12pm, Wednesday 24 December, and we reopen Wednesday 14 January.
