Detangle Advice
At Curly Cuts, we know not all curls are the same, and some curly hair knots easily, especially with kids. Or those with morecoily hair types can be prone to matting.
We can teach you how to detangle gently before the knots become dreadlocks that need to be cut out. Dry brushing, combing, or finger detangling are ineffective for many curly’s and can even worsen the problem.
At Curly Cuts we understand that detangling can be frustrating and challenging. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. That’s what we’re here for! If you need help with knots, whether in your hair or your children’s, we’ll look after you in our friendly, non-judgemental environment.
Once matting or dreadlocking occurs, it becomes even harder to deal with. Rather than struggling alone, come in and get help from us. Prevention is best, so we will teach you detangling techniques to incorporate into your routine and prevent the problem from happening again.
Curly’s need to learn to detangle gently. We don’t want to be ripping the hair and damaging it. We believe in treating curly hair like silk, which should be detangled gently and carefully to avoid pain and damage.
This is especially important for curly kids to learn so they don’t associate caring for their hair with pain! Teaching them to detangle their hair themselves also helps them feel in control of the process, which is an essential feeling for kids.
