We cut curls differently to what you may have be used to. Our team uses new professionally trained curly methods to cut curls which is entirely different to a “dry curly cut” or traditional wet curly cut.

We cut the curls dry – first. Because the curls are cut individually, with each curl “family”, we need to see the natural curl pattern. This is especially important because curly hair is not uniform, most people have multiple curl patterns and even textures on their head.

What Is a Dry Curl-by-Curl Cut?

A dry curl-by-curl cut is ideal for those who embrace their natural curls, providing a tailored approach to enhance the unique shape and texture of each curl. This precise method is designed to suit most curly hair types, with exceptional results for tight textures and coils. However, this technique may not be the best fit for wavy hair.

A dry curl-by-curl cut is perfect for those who embrace their natural curls. This specialised technique is designed to enhance the unique shape and texture of each curl, providing precise and tailored results. It is suitable for most curly hair types, especially tight textures and coils, but may not be suitable for wavy hair.

This service includes a detailed dry curl-by-curl cut. Please note that a wash or dry is not included as part of this service. Please allow up to 1 hour for this service.

Important Update from Curly Cuts

Due to recent restructuring, curly cutting services are now exclusively available with Leeanne. Appointments can be booked online up to three weeks in advance, with new slots opening every three weeks.

If no appointments are available in our online booking system, it means we are currently fully booked. We encourage you to check back in a few weeks, as new slots become available regularly. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Our current available services are listed online on the online booking site. Please note, we do not accept bookings over the phone or in person; all appointments must be made online. Available times are limited and subject to acceptance. Please review our updated terms and conditions.

We strongly encourage customers to use our online booking system for the quickest way book. If you are unable to use the online system, you may email us at [email protected] with your preferred day and time. However, please note that appointments booked online may be taken before we are able to process email requests, so using the online system ensures the best chance of getting a booking.

Please ensure you complete your booking online. A booking is confirmed once you receive a booking confirmation via text or email, detailing the specific date and time of your appointment. We encourage you to review this booking confirmation carefully to ensure all details are correct. At Curly Cuts, we understand that some clients prefer a quiet, relaxing experience. If you’d like a non-talking appointment, simply let us know by emailing us at [email protected] before your visit, and we’ll be happy to accommodate. 

Dry curly cut – NO wash or dry $100

Allow up to 1 hour.
This includes a consultation and specialist dry curly cut. We cut the curls dry first, so you will receive instructions on how to prepare your curls for a curly cut before your appointment.

Dry curly cut, cleanse, hydration and NO dry $115

Allow up to 1.5 hours.
This includes a consultation and a specialist curly cut – allow up to 1 hour. Cleanse and hydration – takes approx. 15 minutes in the basin, application of styling products – takes approx. 15 minutes and no dry. You will leave with damp hair. We cut the curls dry first, so you will receive instructions on how to prepare your curls for a curly cut before your appointment.

Curly Cut, cleanse, hydration & dry $145

Allow up to 2 hours.
This includes a consultation and a specialist dry curly cut – allow up to 1 hour. Cleanse and hydration – takes approx. 15 minutes in the basin, style and dry – takes approx. 45 minutes. We cut the curls dry first, so you will receive instructions on how to prepare your curls for a curly cut before your appointment.

Children’s Curly Cuts $100

Allow up to 1 hour for this service. This time includes a specialist dry curly cut. We cut the curls dry first, so you will receive instructions on how to prepare your curls for a curly cut before your appointment.

Toddlers’ Curly Hair Cut (under 4 years old) $60

Allow up to 30 minutes for this service. This time includes a specialist dry curly cut. We cut the curls dry first, so you will receive instructions on how to prepare your curls for a curly cut before your appointment. Please note that washing and drying are not included.

Afro Dry Curly Cut $140

This service includes a detailed dry afro curly cut. Afro-textured hair requires a specialised approach that differs from traditional cutting methods. Its unique characteristics—fragile texture, significant shrinkage, and distinctive growth patterns—necessitate specific techniques to maintain hair health and achieve the desired style. Dry Cutting: Due to the high shrinkage factor, it’s essential to cut Afro hair while it’s dry. This approach allows for a more accurate assessment of the hair’s natural length and shape, preventing unintended shortening that can occur when cutting wet hair. Freehand Techniques: Employing freehand cutting techniques can also enable stylists to sculpt the hair precisely, respecting its natural curl pattern and ensuring a harmonious shape. Please note that a wash or dry is not included as part of this service. Please allow up to 1 hour for this service.
