Curly Cuts

We cut curls differently to what you may have be used to. Leeanne uses new certified curly methods to cut curls which is entirely different to a “dry curly cut” or traditional wet curly cut.

We cut the curls dry – first. Because the curls are cut curl by curl with each curl “family”, we need to see the natural curl pattern. This is especially important because curly hair is not uniform, most people have multiple curl patterns and even textures on their head.

What Is a Dry Curl-by-Curl Cut?

A dry curl-by-curl cut is ideal for those who embrace their natural curls, providing a tailored approach to enhance the unique shape and texture of each curl. This precise method is designed to suit most curly hair types, with especially tight textured curls.

Booking An Appoinment

We strongly encourage you to use our online booking system first, as it always shows the most up-to-date availability. While you’re waiting for a reply via email, those appointments may get snapped up by someone else booking online — so don’t miss out!

If no bookings are showing online, it usually means one of three things: you’re trying to book too far in advance, we’re fully booked, or you’re selecting a time or day we’re not open.

We open appointments aproximately 4–6 weeks ahead of the current date, so check back regularly for cancellations or new spots!

Appointment days:

Our cutting days are Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (cut-off is 3pm on Fridays). We do not offer cuts on Tuesdays, Saturdays or after 3pm Fridays due to busy refill and retail times.

The latest appointment time on Wednesdays and Thursdays is 5pm for the Express Curl Cut, or 4pm for the other curl cut options.

Non Talking Appointments

At Curly Cuts, we understand that some clients prefer a quiet, relaxing experience. If you’d like a non-talking appointment, simply let us know by emailing us at [email protected] before your visit, and we’ll be happy to accommodate. 

1. Express Dry Curl Cut Only– No Wash, No Refresh $110

This service includes a dry curl cut only by Leeanne who is certified by Clever Curl Dry Curl by Curl cutting.
Suitable for returning clients who don’t require a refresh or for those confident in their curl routine.
Includes a dry curly cut only – no wash, refresh, or styling is included in this service.
You’ll leave as is after the cut.

Please arrive with clean, dry, detangled hair styled as usual.

Duration: Up to 1 hour approximately

2. Dry Curl Cut & Refresh $150

This service includes a dry curl cut and refresh by Leeanne who is certified by Clever Curl in Dry Curl by Curl cutting.

This service comes with a personalised demonstration and education session on how to refresh your curls at home between wash days, using the latest techniques from our most current Clever Curl training.

Please arrive with clean, dry, detangled hair styled as usual.

No basin work (e.g. washing) or drying is included with this service.

If you select a wet refresh, we’ll teach you wet refresh techniques using our continuous mist spray bottle and hair will be micro-plopped. Please note: you will leave with wet hair.

If you choose a dry refresh, we’ll use our dry refresh techniques only, with no or minimal water.

Please allow up to approximately 1.5 hours for this appointment. Very long or extra thick hair may take slightly longer.

3. Dry Curl Cut , Refresh & Dry $200

This service includes a dry curl cut and refresh by Leeanne who is certified by Clever Curl in Dry Curl by Curl cutting.
This service comes with a personalised demonstration of styling products, using the latest techniques from our most up-to-date Clever Curl training. Hair is gently dried using a radiant heat lamp and/or a Dyson diffuser.

No basin work (e.g. washing) is included with our services. Please arrive with clean, dry, detangled hair styled as usual.

Please allow up to approximately 2 hours for this appointment. Very long or extra thick hair may take slightly longer.

4. Tight Textured Dry Curly Cut $150

This service includes a detailed dry tight textured curly cut. Tight textured hair requires a specialised approach that differs from traditional cutting methods. Its unique characteristics—fragile texture, significant shrinkage, and distinctive growth patterns—necessitate specific techniques to maintain hair health and achieve the desired style. Dry Cutting: Due to the high shrinkage factor, it’s essential to cut tight textured hair while it’s dry. This approach allows for a more accurate assessment of the hair’s natural length and shape, preventing unintended shortening that can occur when cutting wet hair. Freehand Techniques: Employing freehand cutting techniques can also enable stylists to sculpt the hair precisely, respecting its natural curl pattern and ensuring a harmonious shape.
Leeanne is certified in the Clever Curl Advanced Afro MasterClass. Please note that a wash or dry is not included as part of this service. Please allow up aprrox 1 and half hours this service.
