Most new clients will find the answer to their question on this page. We’ve created this guide to explain our specialised curly cutting services, booking process, education, shopping options and what makes Curly Cuts unique—all in one place.

There’s a reason I spent years retraining, investing in advanced education and developing specialised curly cutting techniques. I’ve worked in hairdressing my entire working life and have the experience to offer many traditional hairdressing services — but I deliberately choose not to anymore. Curly Cuts was created so my time, appointments and ongoing education could be dedicated to curls and textured hair.

If I opened my books to “just one or two” of the services I’ve moved away from, those appointments could quickly take over the space I’ve worked so hard to create. I didn’t invest years, money and countless hours retraining in curly hair to return to the hairdressing I intentionally left behind. I chose to specialise. My books are reserved for the curls, textures and cutting methods I have committed myself to understanding. That isn’t about limiting what I can do — it’s about protecting the specialist service Curly Cuts was created to provide.

I’m Leeanne, the owner of Curly Cuts and founder of Natural Eclipse. I bring decades of experience in hairdressing and business, along with eight years dedicated to helping people understand, care for and enjoy their natural curls.

Experience is an advantage—and it shapes everything we offer.

Curly products: Since starting Natural Eclipse in 2018 then Curly Cuts in 2021, I’ve spent eight years buying, selling and trying curly products. That experience helps me choose our range and guide customers towards products that suit their curls, rather than simply following the latest trend.

Bonnets and accessories: Listening to our customers and seeing what works has taught me what curlies actually need. It’s how we choose accessories that have a practical place in your routine.

Curly cutting: Every head of curls has taught me something. Years of specialist education and hands-on experience cutting only curly hair at Curly Cuts have helped me refine my techniques.

Online shopping: Behind every postal order are years of fine-tuning our online operations, packing and customer service. I’ve also worked with the same trusted IT company for eight years to help keep our online shop a trusted online space and running smoothly. There’s much more to it than putting a product in a box.

I didn’t discover curls when they became popular. I recognised the need for dedicated curly support eight years ago and built Natural Eclipse and then Curly Cuts around it. We were among the early curly businesses in Australia offering education directly to customers, helping people feel more confident caring for their hair at home.

These eight years have helped build the foundation for our next chapter. There’s more to come, and I’m excited to share it with you.

Please read the information below before trying to book. 

As we head into our busiest time of the year — including Black Friday, Christmas and New Year, alongside a very busy retail and online period — we need to carefully manage Curly Cuts appointment availability.

Due to our peak Black Friday, Christmas and New Year period, we are not accepting new-client bookings or first time Curly Cuts with Leeanne for the remainder of 2026. 

These appointments will be prioritised for clients who have previously had a Curly Cut with Leeanne. This means first-time clients, and returning clients who have not had a Curly Cut with Leeanne within the past two years, will temporarily be unable to book for the remainder of 2026. 

During this busy period, we’re unable to accept new-client haircut bookings, so any new-client appointments booked online for these months will be not be accepted.

However, new clients are very welcome to email us at [email protected] to be added to our last-minute cancellation list for November, December and January. If a suitable appointment becomes available at short notice, we may be able to offer it to you.

Please check our service list, then email [email protected] with the service number you’d like, your mobile number, and the days and times you’re available during our curly cutting hours. We’ll be in touch if a suitable appointment becomes available.

You can still visit us to shop for curly hair products in store, shop online at naturaleclipse.com.au, or join one of our Curl Education Classes.

Important first time curly cut with Leeanne

As demand continues to grow, we may also need to further limit or close first-time bookings to protect appointment availability for our established clients.

Please note: We are currently unable to accept new-client bookings from 4pm onwards on Wednesdays, as these later appointments are in high demand and allocated to our existing clients in our system only . New clients are very welcome to book from our other available appointment times. Thank you for your understanding.

First-time customers: A prepayment invoice will be emailed after booking and must be paid within 24 hours to secure your appointment. Unpaid bookings will be automatically cancelled. See terms and conditions  for first time bookings. Please enter a valid email address when booking so we can send your appointment information and prepayment details.

Is This Service Right for You?

Curly Cuts does not offer barbering services, including fades, cuts on very short wavy hair, or short curly pixie cuts, as the techniques required for these services fall outside the specialised services we provide.

This service is suitable for most curls, including many wavy hair types. We believe in being completely transparent about the specialised cutting services we offer so clients can determine whether Curly Cuts is the right fit before booking.

Who Is This Service Not Suitable For?

Leeanne’s signature curly cutting is not suitable for very short hair, short curly pixie cuts, straight hair, almost straight hair with very little curl , or hair with little to no natural curl, regardless of length. These hair types, hair lengths and curly haircut styles that require haircutting techniques—such as , thinning, clipper work, scissor-over-comb and extensive texturising—which fall outside the specialised curly cutting offered with Leeanne at Curly Cuts. 

If your hair type, curl pattern, hair length or requested haircut requires techniques outside our specialised curly cutting method, we will be unable to proceed with your appointment, and our cancellation policy may apply.

If you’re unsure whether your hair is suitable, please contact us before booking with a current photo of your hair in its natural, dry state (your face does not need to be visible). We’ll be happy to let you know whether our specialised curly cutting service is the right fit for you.

Preparing for Your Appointment

Your hair must be completely dry and prepared according to our preparation guide. If your hair is not dry, we will be unable to proceed with the service.

You may wash your hair the day before your appointment, and using your usual styling products is perfectly fine.

Our Speciality: Certified Curly Cutting

Curly cutting is a fast-moving, constantly evolving area of hairdressing, and my method has evolved right alongside it. The curly industry has changed enormously over the past eight years, and so have I. Those eight years have been an intensive period of retraining, advanced education, investment and thousands of hours working hands-on with curls and textured hair.

I haven’t stayed tied to one technique — I’ve continued to learn, question, refine and adapt as the curly industry and our understanding of curls has progressed. Today, I confidently combine new specialised curly techniques with my decades of freehand cutting experience, tailoring every cut to the individual curl patterns, texture, density and needs of the hair in front of me.

How To Book An Appointment

If you’re unable to book online, you’re welcome to email me with:

    As a sole operator, I’ve designed my business so that bookings and enquiries are managed online or via email. This allows me to dedicate my time to my clients  while ensuring every enquiry receives the attention it deserves. Unfortunately, I’m unable to take phone calls.
    Please note that I can only book appointments that are also visible within the online booking system.

We do not take appointments over the phone. All appointments must be booked online or arranged via email.

If you have any questions, please contact us by email. As we are usually with clients or helping retail customers in store, it is often not possible for us to answer phone calls, and our voicemail will direct you back to our website.

We have set up the business so most of your questions can be answered here on our website or email, including information about services, bookings and what to expect. You can also check our social media pages for updates and helpful information.

Can’t Find a Suitable Appointment?


If you can’t see your preferred service or appointment time, it usually means that service is fully booked or you’re looking outside the allocated curl-by-curl cutting times.
You may wish to consider another available service, such as the Express Curly Cut, if it suits your needs. Please note that each service includes different appointment times and inclusions.
Our Rolling Booking Schedule

  • Bookings are released progressively 8–16 weeks in advance—not all at once.
  • New appointments become available as the weeks roll forward.
  • Cancellations automatically appear online if they occur.
  • The online booking system shows exactly the same availability that I can see.
  • You’re welcome to join the cancellation list. Please email [email protected] with all your details including a mobile, service number and days available.
  • Please try to book online where possible. As a sole operator, my response time to emails may sometimes be delayed.

  • We do not offer Curly Cuts on Saturdays or on Fridays after 1 pm. However, we are still open for retail during these times. Please check Google Maps for our current shop hours. Our latest cutting day is Wednesday.

Need Curl Education? Please Book Separately.

Cutting Appointments Do Not Include Full Curl Education.

If you are new to Curly Cuts, new to curly hair methods, or wanting to update to newer methods you will also need to book one of our Curly Cuts Curl Education Classes. Full curl education, routines and techniques are not included within our haircut appointments, as we cannot focus fully on your specialised cut while teaching a complete curl routine at the same time, and there simply isn’t enough time to cover everything properly within a cutting service. Below you’ll find all of our curly cutting options, prices, appointment information and booking link so you can choose the service and price range that best suits you.

We genuinely love educating curlies—that’s why we’ve created dedicated learning resources. 
While we’re always happy to offer quick product advice and answer simple questions in-store, teaching someone how to care for and style their curls properly takes dedicated time and can’t be done during a quick visit.

You’re always welcome to visit Curly Cuts during opening hours to shop, refill your products or ask a quick product question. Friday afternoons after 2:00 pm and Saturday mornings are often the best times to ask questions, as we’re not performing curly haircuts during these periods.

We’re always happy to help where we can during shop hours, but please understand that comprehensive curl education can’t be covered in just a few minutes over the counter. We’re also unable to provide one-on-one curl consultations while the shop is open. If you’d like personalised guidance, education or help updating your curly routine, please book one of our Curly Cuts Curl Education Classes.
