Important Notes Before Your Appointment

If this is your first Curly Cuts appointment with Leeanne, it is important that you read our New to Curly Cuts guide before your appointment:

Please note: Due to limited availability, we are currently unable to accept new customer bookings for Wednesday afternoons after 3:00 pm. Thank you for your understanding.

First-time customers: A prepayment invoice will be emailed after booking and must be paid within 24 hours to secure your appointment. Unpaid bookings will be automatically cancelled. See terms and conditions  for first time bookings. 

 

Is This Service Right for You?

Curly Cuts does not offer barbering services, including fades, cuts on very short wavy hair, or short curly pixie cuts, as the techniques required for these services fall outside the specialised services we provide.

This service is suitable for most curls, including many wavy hair types. We believe in being completely transparent about the specialised cutting services we offer so clients can determine whether Curly Cuts is the right fit before booking.

Why Are Bookings with Leeanne Reserved for Specialised Curly Cutting?

Bookings with Leeanne are intentionally reserved for specialised curly cutting. As a fully qualified hairdresser with over 35 years of industry experience in all aspects of traditional haircutting, Leeanne has intentionally chosen to dedicate her limited appointment availability exclusively to specialised curly cutting.

If these appointments were opened to every haircut request, there would be very little availability left for the advanced curl-by-curl cutting methods she has spent the past eight years learning, refining and continuing to develop through ongoing professional education. This ensures her limited appointments remain available for clients specifically seeking this specialised service.

Who Is This Service Not Suitable For?

This specialised cutting method is not suitable for very short hair, short curly pixie cuts, straight hair, almost straight hair, or hair with little to no natural curl, regardless of length. These hair types, hair lengths and haircut styles generally require traditional haircutting techniques—such as slicing, thinning, clipper work, scissor-over-comb and extensive texturising—which fall outside the specialised services offered with Leeanne at Curly Cuts.

If your hair type, curl pattern, hair length or requested haircut requires techniques outside our specialised curly cutting method, we will be unable to proceed with your appointment, and our cancellation policy may apply.

If you’re unsure whether your hair is suitable, please contact us before booking with a current photo of your hair in its natural, dry state (your face does not need to be visible). We’ll be happy to let you know whether our specialised curly cutting service is the right fit for you.

Preparing for Your Appointment

Your hair must be completely dry and prepared according to our preparation guide. If your hair is not dry, we will be unable to proceed with the service.

You may wash your hair the day before your appointment, and using your usual styling products is perfectly fine.

Not all curly education is the same. Leeanne is proudly certified in the Clever Curl Masterclass, with an additional separate Clever Curl Advanced Tight Textured Masterclass certification. This specialised education allows us to confidently work with most curly hair, including most wavy curls, while also providing advanced training for tight textures and coils. 

 

Our Speciality: Certified Curl-by-Curl Cutting


We offer Certified Clever Curl curly cutting—a highly specialised cutting technique available on selected days and times only.
As Curly Cuts evolved, we made the deliberate decision to specialise exclusively in advanced curl-by-curl cutting. Since 2025, Curly Cuts has focused solely on this specialised service, delivered personally by owner Leeanne.

If you’ve visited Curly Cuts prior to 2025, please note that the services, techniques and business model have changed significantly. Today’s Curly Cuts reflects my current specialised approach, training and standards.


As with many specialist industries, curly cutting techniques continue to evolve. My commitment is to ongoing education, continually refining my skills, and providing clients with the most up-to-date specialised curly cutting methods available.

Many clients enjoy the best of both worlds by visiting us for their specialised curly haircut and a separate colour specialist for their colour (and our salon smells much nicer too!).
Because this cutting method is highly specialised, it isn’t suitable for every hair type or curl pattern.

How To Book An Appointment

If you’re unable to book online, you’re welcome to email me with:

  • The numbered service you’d like to book
  • Your preferred days and times
  • Your full name
  • Your mobile number
    As a sole operator, I’ve designed my business so that bookings and enquiries are managed online or via email. This allows me to dedicate my time to my clients  while ensuring every enquiry receives the attention it deserves. Unfortunately, I’m unable to take phone calls.
    Please note that I can only book appointments that are also visible within the online booking system.

Can’t Find a Suitable Appointment?


If you can’t see your preferred service or appointment time, it usually means that service is fully booked or you’re looking outside the allocated curl-by-curl cutting times.
You may wish to consider another available service, such as the Express Curly Cut, if it suits your needs. Please note that each service includes different appointment times and inclusions.
Our Rolling Booking Schedule

  • Bookings are released progressively 8–12 weeks in advance—not all at once.
  • New appointments become available as the weeks roll forward.
  • Cancellations automatically appear online if they occur.
  • The online booking system shows exactly the same availability that I can see.
  • You’re welcome to join the cancellation list, although cancellations are relatively uncommon.
  • Please try to book online where possible. As a sole operator, my response time to emails may sometimes be delayed.

Need Help With Your Curls?


We genuinely love educating curlies—that’s why we’ve created dedicated learning resources.
While we’re always happy to offer quick product advice and answer simple questions in-store, teaching someone how to care for and style their curls properly takes dedicated time and can’t be done during a quick visit.
You’re always welcome to visit Curly Cuts during opening hours to shop, refill your products or ask a quick product question. Friday afternoons after 2:00 pm and Saturday mornings are often the best times to ask questions, as we’re not performing curly haircuts during these periods. However, please understand that we can’t provide one-on-one curl consultations or comprehensive curl education during shop hours.
If you’re new to curly hair care, need help with teqnique or would like to learn how to properly care for and style your curls, we recommend starting with one of our Curly Education Classes.
